Wine Is Malta's Most Popular Alcoholic Drink!

A study published in Last Line Stories explored the most popular drinks across Europe, creating the continents ‘Drinking Map.’

It was revealed that in Malta, the most popular alcoholic beverage is wine, when compared to beer or spirits.

The study explained that this result is no surprise, with much of Europe’s mediterranean ranking wine at the top due to the high quantity of traditional wine-producing regions.

In countries further north, and even some central locations such as the UK and Ireland, Germany, and Poland, the drink of choice seems to be beer.

On the contrary, countered like Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, and many others in Eastern Europe put spirits in first place.

There are some outliers though, which are interesting to explore!

Nestled among beer-preferring regions, Sweden actually put wine above any other alcohol. Similarly, Moldova in the East of Europe, ranked beer above spirits.
