Weekend Beach Patrols Continue Across Sliema

Weekend beach patrols are continuing across Sliema throughout the summer, with teams visiting the area’s beaches to help keep them clean, safe and enjoyable for residents and visitors.
The patrols are focused on raising awareness among beach users about the importance of protecting Sliema’s coastline. Particular attention is being given to litter left behind after barbecues, gatherings and other beach activities. Patrol teams are also monitoring beaches for littering, illegal activities and rowdy behaviour, while serious incidents are reported to the competent authorities when necessary.
On Saturday evening, Sliema Mayor John Pillow and Deputy Mayor Anton Debono joined the beach patrol to observe the operation first-hand. During their visit, they spoke with members of the patrol team and beach users, highlighting the importance of responsible behaviour and respect for public spaces.
The initiative forms part of Sliema Local Council’s efforts to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the town’s popular coastline during the busy summer months.
The council is encouraging everyone who visits Sliema’s beaches to play their part by disposing of rubbish responsibly, respecting other beach users and helping protect the local environment.
The message is simple: enjoy Sliema’s beaches, respect the coastline and help keep Sliema clean for everyone.
