Weather Warning Issued As Temperatures Set To Feel Like 45°C

A weather warning has been issued as Malta braces for another spell of intense heat, with temperatures expected to feel as high as 45°C over the coming days.

The hot and sunny conditions are set to persist throughout the week, with actual temperatures reaching highs of between 36°C and 37°C. However, the combination of high temperatures and humidity is expected to push the “feels like” temperature up to a sweltering 45°C on Thursday, Friday and Monday.

Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday are also expected to remain exceptionally hot, with temperatures feeling like 43°C.

Night-time temperatures will offer little relief, with lows ranging between 26°C and 28°C throughout the forecast period.

The UV index is also expected to remain at a very high level of 9, meaning residents and visitors are being urged to take precautions when spending time outdoors, particularly during the hottest hours of the day.

With another scorching week ahead, staying hydrated, avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun and seeking shade where possible will be essential.
