Weather Warning Issued As Temperatures Expected To Reach 34°C
Local

The Met Office have issued another hot weather warning as temperatures are set to remain exceptionally high throughout the coming week, with maximum temperatures of 33°C to 34°C expected through to Friday 10th July.

Residents are being urged to drink plenty of water, avoid prolonged exposure to the midday sun, and take extra care during the hottest parts of the day.

A prolonged spell of hot and sunny weather will dominate the forecast from Monday through to Friday, with little change in conditions.

Monday will see wall-to-wall sunshine, reaching a high of 33°C, although it will feel closer to 35°C in the afternoon.

Temperatures then climb to 34°C from Tuesday onwards, with daytime values feeling as high as 36°C under the strong July sunshine.

Overnight conditions will remain warm with temperatures only falling to 23°C on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, before edging up to 24°C by Thursday and Friday.

Winds will generally be light, varying between west-north-westerly, north-westerly and south-easterly later in the week, offering little relief from the heat.

UV levels will remain very high throughout the period, reaching 9 or 10 each day, meaning sunburn can occur quickly without adequate protection.

The settled pattern shows no sign of breaking before the weekend, with dry, cloud-free skies expected to continue, prolonging the hot spell and increasing the risk of heat-related impacts.
