Watch: Hedgehogs, Robins & Cats Visit Local School’s Water For Wildlife Garden

St Michael's School has teamed up with Nature Trust - FEE Malta to help local wildlife thrive through the Water for Wildlife project, creating a dedicated Wildlife Garden where students can observe nature up close.
As part of the school's commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 15, Life on Land, the protected green space has been designed to encourage biodiversity while providing valuable learning opportunities outside the classroom.
The initiative brings together the school's EkoSkola team, Gardening Club, teachers and students, who are monitoring the plants and animals found within the school grounds.
Using one of Nature Trust's motion-activated wildlife cameras, students have already recorded a variety of visitors, including hedgehogs, robins, thrushes and even a few curious cats.
Each sighting helps students learn more about the wildlife living alongside them and highlights the rich biodiversity that can exist in everyday environments.
The project also includes a reliable water source for animals visiting the Wildlife Garden, helping local species access an essential resource while encouraging even more wildlife to stop by.
The school thanked everyone who has been helping to refill the water bowls, saying the support plays an important role in the success of the project.
