Waste Crisis As Summer Demands Double, Says Eve Borg Bonello

In a recent video, Nationalist MP Eve Borg Bonello highlighted the garbage crisis Malta is facing in a number of urban areas as the population in Malta in summer skyrockets.

She said that when the population in summer explodes and doubles, so do the waste and the accompanied issues.

This includes the lack of space, the uncleanliness, the pests like rats as well as an overall unpleasant living experience for the local and tourist.

The demands on waste pickups and bins are not enough to handle this increase, explains Eve.

Eve went on to say that the local councils are not those who are to blame as they work tirelessly to address the issue.

Rather they are being scapegoated as they inherited systems which do not help their efforts, concluded Eve.

‘Anyone with eyes can see that this is a crisis’, she said.
