Video game music will take centre stage at PLAYCON 2026 with the introduction of Symphonic Pixels, a new concert experience that will transform gaming soundtracks through the sound of a live orchestra.

Taking place on 20 November at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali, Symphonic Pixels will feature a 50-piece orchestra led by Maestro Kevin Abela. The performance will combine orchestral music and visual elements, creating a journey through some of the most recognisable worlds and sounds of video games.

Gaming soundtracks have become an important part of the player experience, helping to create atmosphere, build suspense and enhance memorable moments. Through Symphonic Pixels, these compositions will be brought to life in a new setting for both gaming fans and music lovers.

The concert forms part of PLAYCON 2026, which will run from 18 to 22 November at the MFCC. The event will bring together gaming, esports, technology, game development, cosplay and entertainment through a programme designed for different audiences.

The week will begin with the PLAYCON Summit on 18 and 19 November, featuring discussions with developers, publishers, investors and industry professionals. From 19 November onwards, visitors can explore the public expo, featuring gaming companies, indie developers, educational initiatives, interactive experiences and esports competitions.

This year’s programme will also include cosplay competitions, including the Best in Show contest and a new Kids Cosplay Competition. International guests will include Steven Ogg, known for his role as Trevor Philips in Grand Theft Auto V, and Anthony Howell, whose gaming credits include Elden Ring and Diablo IV.

Entrance to the main PLAYCON show floor is free, while tickets for Symphonic Pixels are available separately.
