Valletta Sets New National Record During Pet Day Event

Valletta has achieved a new national record following a successful Pet Day event held in the capital, bringing together hundreds of pet owners and their animals in one place.
The initiative, organised by the Valletta Local Council in collaboration with the Secretariat for Animal Rights under the responsibility of Parliamentary Secretary Alicia Bugeja Said, took place at Hastings Gardens and aimed to promote community engagement and animal welfare.
During the six-hour event, a total of 345 domestic animals were registered in a single location, officially setting a new national record for the largest number of pets gathered in one place within that timeframe.
Valletta Mayor Olaf McKay described the achievement as a significant milestone for the capital, highlighting the strong participation from families and the wider community.
Representatives from The Malta Records were also present to officially verify and present the record, praising the organisers for a well-executed and successful event.
The initiative was described as a celebration of pets and community spirit, with organisers thanking all participants and partners who contributed to making the event a success.
