Valletta Hosts 279 Restaurants and Over 50 Accommodation Spots

During a recent Parliamentary session, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Tourism Ian Borg revealed that Valletta is home to 279 licensed food establishments and over 50 accommodation providers.
The information was provided in response to a parliamentary question from PN MP Ivan Bartolo, who asked for a breakdown of hospitality services in the capital.
Minister Borg detailed that Valletta currently hosts 14 hotels, 35 guest houses, and 2 hostels, making up a total of 51 accommodation establishments.
These figures reflect the ongoing commercialisation of Valletta, which has seen a sharp rise in tourism in recent years.
The city has become a major attraction for visitors looking to explore Malta’s historic capital while enjoying its many dining and lodging options.
As Valletta continues to evolve into a hub for both locals and tourists, questions are being raised about whether the balance between culture, heritage, and commerce is being maintained, what do you think?
