‘Ġustizzja Għal-Artna’ Welcomes Public Consultation Stating Works Must Be Suspended During Appeal Process

Moviment Graffiti, through their campaign “Ġustizzja għal Artna”, has accepted the public consultation document released by the Ministry for Planning regarding works during the appeal process.

“Currently, works may begin based on permits issued by the PA, even while they are being challenged before the Environment and Planning Review Tribunal (EPRT) and the Courts,” explained the NGO.

However, the “much-needed” reform will see the suspension of works “for the duration of an appeal.”

Moviment Graffiti sad this will “foster a more efficient appeals process for all parties involved.”

The organisation explained that they have been pushing for this kind of reform for a long time, demanding justice for those affected by “unlawful PA decisions.”

“We also remind Government that guaranteeing the suspension of works during the appeals process is the very bare minimum required to begin introducing a modicum of fairness in our planning regime,” stated Moviment Graffiti.
