Unstable Weather Conditions As Vortex Forms Close To Malta

Malta is experiencing a week of changeable weather, with isolated showers and windy conditions dominating the forecast.
Yesterday, meteorologists observed a striking vortex of low pressure developing early in the morning between Malta and Libya, as reported by local Facebook group It-Temp Madwarna.
Interestingly, near the center of this vortex, skies were clear, which explains the sunny spells experienced throughout the day.
Looking ahead, Wednesday will bring isolated showers with temperatures feeling like 17°C, while Thursday is expected to be windy with isolated showers, with a high of 16°C and gusty winds from the northwest.
Friday should see partly cloudy skies with slightly milder temperatures, while Saturday and Sunday continue the trend of scattered showers and breezy conditions, with highs reaching 17–18°C.
Weather authorities advise residents to stay updated on changing conditions, especially with the strong gusts forecasted over the next few days.
The combination of showers, sunny intervals, and blustery winds highlights the complex atmospheric patterns affecting the Maltese islands this week.
