Unknown Person Paints Two Zebra Crossings In Żejtun: Council Condemns Vandalism

The Żejtun Local Council has condemned what it called an act of vandalism the painting of two speed bumps in Żejtun.

By Monday, the local council reported that the crossings had been replaced by two sped bumps on the road, which were reportedly damaged.

The Council had already submitted requests to the contractor for the speed bumps to be replaced with new and wider ones than those originally installed’, said the council.

‘Furthermore, the Council has already installed new signs indicating the presence of a school, as previously there were no signs along this street alerting road users to the school’s presence.’

‘Acts of this nature not only damage public infrastructure but can also compromise the safety of children, parents and all residents of the street.’

‘The Police have been informed and are investigating the case. The Council appeals to everyone to respect public infrastructure and prioritise the safety of all.’
