Two UK Nationals Arrested After Selling Drugs At The Airport
Local

Two UK nationals, a 33 year old man and a 32 year old woman, were arrested on Wednesday night after they were allegedly trafficking drugs at the Malta Airport.

Police received an anonymous call at around 2300hrs, saying that in the departures there were a man and a woman who were allegedly selling drugs.

They were given a description, and police immediately began their search, with the couple being located a few moments later at the airport’s lower level and were arrested.

An analysis from security cameras showed that they were using a vehicle parked in the airport’s parking. A search in the vehicle yielded four sachets of suspected cocaine, two sachets of suspected cannabis, seven pills of ecstasy, as well as 54 bottles of nitrous oxide, known as laughing gas, as well as €1,000 in cash.

The two are expected to be arranged in court today.
