Two Transport Malta Officials Injured After Car Crash In Ħal Tarxien

Earlier today, at around 0030hrs, police were informed of a traffic accident which took place in Triq Tal-Barrani, Ħal Tarxien.

Police convened immediately on site and found that a crash had taken place between a BMW 120 driven by a 24 year old man resident of Nadur and a Mercedes E-class driven by a 21 year old resident of Wied il-Għajn.

The Mercedes crashed into a parked Peugeot 208, which had two Transport Malta officials, aged 38 and 28. Due to the impact, this latter vehicle crashed into a parked For Transit.

A medical team was called on site and transported the officials to Mater Dei Hospital, who were on duty.

The 38 year old was certified as having suffered grievous injuries, whereas the other suffered light injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
