Two Men Shot Dead In Rabat: 72 Year Old Man Arrested

A 72-year-old man from Żebbuġ has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of two men in Rabat on Tuesday evening.
The victims were found dead in an alley in the Tal-Kuncizzjoni area, on the outskirts of Rabat, following reports of gunshots at around 5.45pm.
Police officers from the Rapid Intervention Unit were first to arrive at the scene. They discovered the lifeless bodies of a 51-year-old man from Siġġiewi and a 57-year-old man from Rabat, both found in the open near the local chapel.
The motive behind the killings is still unclear, and police are actively investigating.
Sources earlier revealed that the suspect allegedly shot his son-in-law and his partner’s son before fleeing. A manhunt was launched shortly after, with the suspect eventually apprehended by police.
It is understood that all three men were related. Early indications suggest the fatal shootings may have been triggered by an ongoing family dispute.
The investigation is still ongoing.
