TWO MEN SERIOUSLY INJURED AFTER MOTORCYCLE HIT-AND-RUN IN MĠARR

Two men suffered serious injuries early this morning after a motorcycle was hit by a car in Mġarr, with the driver allegedly fleeing the scene.
Police were informed at around 2am that assistance was needed in Triq l-Imġarr, Mġarr, following a collision in which two people had sustained injuries.
Initial investigations found that a Kymco motorcycle, ridden by a 31-year-old man from Marsaskala, had been struck by a car. The driver of the car allegedly left the scene immediately after the collision.
The motorcyclist and his passenger, a 30-year-old man from Mġarr, were given medical assistance at the scene before being taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. They were later certified to have suffered serious injuries.
Police launched an intensive investigation, which led to the identification of the vehicle involved a short while later. The car was found in Mġarr, where police arrested the alleged driver, a 19-year-old man who resides in Mġarr.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing as authorities work to establish the exact circumstances and dynamics of the collision.
