TWO MEN ARRESTED IN SAN PAWL IL-BAĦAR AS POLICE SEIZE 75 PACKETS OF SUSPECTED CANNABIS

The Maltese Police Force have arrested two men in coordinated anti-drug operations carried out in San Pawl il-Baħar.
The arrests follow several days of observation and investigation by police officers targeting suspected drug activity in the area.
The first operation took place in Ta’ Fra Ben, where a 27-year-old Gambian man was stopped after allegedly selling drugs.
During a search, officers recovered a quantity of suspected cannabis. Further searches in the area, including under wooden crates and furniture, uncovered additional packets of the same substance.
Simultaneously, a second operation was conducted at a residence on Triq ix-Xolfa, resulting in the arrest of a 34-year-old man from Mali.
Police searches throughout the property uncovered multiple packets of suspected cannabis. In total, around 75 packets of drugs were seized across both operations.
A magisterial inquiry has been appointed by Dr Monica Borg Galea LL.D, and the two men remain in police custody pending further investigation. They are expected to be brought before the courts in the coming days.
The arrests reinforce the police’s zero-tolerance approach toward drug abuse and illegal activities across Malta and Gozo.
