Two Men Arrested In Marsa For Reportedly Trafficking Synthetic Cannabis

On Saturday, 24th January 2026, police arrested two men in Marsa, after they were found to be in possession of drugs allegedly ready for trafficking.

The first arrest took place at around 0100hrs. While police were conducting rounds on foot in Sqaq il-Ġerrejja, they noticed three men who raised suspicion.

After searches on one of the men, a 30 year old who lives in Ħal Far, 8 sachets of what was suspected to be synthetic cannabis were found.

Later on, at around 0900hrs, after more rounds by police, more persons were stopped in Ġnien Belvedere after raising further suspicion.

While police were conducting necessary searches on one of the individuals, a 30 year old Marsa resident, an amount of cash was found on his person that raised suspicion.

More sachets of synthetic cannabis were found on his person. This lead to a search in his residence, which yielded more drugs suspected to be cannabis as well as €3,000 in cash and objects related to drug trafficking.

An inquiry has been opened for both cases and investigations are ongoing.
