Two Men Arrested in Għaxaq Drug Trafficking Surveillance Operation

Two men were arrested by police following a surveillance operation linked to suspected drug trafficking activities in Għaxaq.

Police said that officers were carrying out observations in the locality yesterday afternoon when they noticed two individuals acting suspiciously inside a parked vehicle. Following searches conducted on the men and inside the vehicle, officers allegedly discovered a substantial quantity of drugs prepared in sachets, along with an amount of cash suspected to be linked to trafficking activities.

According to the police, the seized substances included 70 sachets of suspected cannabis, 24 sachets of suspected cocaine and 16 sachets of suspected heroin.

The two suspects were immediately taken into custody for further questioning as investigations continue. Authorities have not yet released the identities or ages of the men.

Police confirmed that the suspects are expected to be arraigned in court in the coming hours on charges related to the possession and trafficking of illegal substances.
