Two Men Arrested During Traffic Inspections For Alleged Drug Trafficking

Two men were arrested yesterday during traffic inspections when they were found to be in possession of drugs for alleged trafficking.
In the first case, a 26 year old man resident of Żejtun was arrested in Dawret il-Gudja, Gudja.
During the inspection, the man was spotted tossing something to the back of the car. Investigations yielded drugs suspected to be cannabis, MDMA, around 20 ecstasy pills, and a pink substance, as well as three mobile phones and cash.
More investigations at his Żejtun residence yielded grinders, suspected cannabis, cash and a false firearm.
Later, during other traffic controls on the Imrieħel Bypass, a 21 year old man resident of Birkirkara, was arrested for raising suspicions that he had illegal substances in his car.
Substances suspected to be cannabis and cocaine, as well as pink dust and a grinder.
The 26 year old is set to be arraigned in court today at around 1300hrs, with the other man expected to be taken to court in the coming days.
