Two Hoglets Rescued Separately In Gozo Now Growing Together

Nature Trust Malta shared a photo of the adorable Kenuna and Dobbie, two baby hedgehogs rescued separately in Gozo and now growing together.

Kenuna was found in Nadur, near Kenuna Tower, whilst Dobbie was found in Għarb. Both weighed under 60g and were far too small to be on their own.

Despite arriving separately, they didn’t stay apart for too long. The two have become best of friends and are now keeping each other company while they grow.

For now, both will remain in Nature Trust’s care until they reach a healthy weight and are ready to live independently in the wild. ‘Sometimes rehab comes with a new friend.’

All animals rescued are protected species and it is illegal to keep them as pets or harm them. Volunteers have wildlife handling permits and training as well as equipment in order to rescue these animals.
