Two Companies Express Interest In Tender For 4th Gozo Channel Ferry

Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri announced that two companies have expressed interest in tender for the fourth Gozo Channel Ferry.

‘Following the call for tenders issued by the Ministry for Gozo through Gozo Channel Operations Ltd. for the lease of a fourth ferry service, the tender submission period closed earlier today, with two bidders, Caronte e Tourist S.p.A. and Ragusa Xpress Ltd., submitting their offers.’

The evaluation process for the submitted bids is expected to begin and continue over the coming days and weeks, the statement explains.

‘This is a temporary arrangement until two new ferries are purchased, as previously outlined in the strategy for the future of the Gozo Channel service. Once acquired, the two new vessels will join the fleet on a permanent basis.’
