Turtle Rescued Despite Rough Waters In Little Armier

Late on Saturday afternoon, Nature Trust - FEE Malta Wildlife Rescue team were contacted by the Malta Red Cross stationed at Little Armier to inform them that a turtle was in distress.
The challenge to get to the turtle were the rough waters, with the teams getting into a discussion as how to best approach the rescue.
One of the volunteers jumped in, with lifeguards keeping a close eye on her and jumping in later to help. The volunteer managed to retrieve the turtle, now named Red-X (after Malta Red Cross), was found to have ingested a fishing line, which was coming out of her mouth.
The line was entangled with a 2 metre wooden log. It will need to be determined whether there is a fishing hook inside the turtle, after which the turtle will decide on a treatment plan.
Well done to everyone involved!
