Autumn is finally here!
September 23rd marks the Autumn Equinox and the official change of the seasons in Malta.
There are two equinoxes each year, when the sun’s rays align perfectly with the equator of the Earth. As a result, the first days of autumn and spring are exactly as long as the nights.
Once autumn passes and we get closer to winter, the days will get gradually shorter until the Winter Solstice, which is the shortest on the calendar. From there, the cycle reverses and the days will get longer again.
