Tumas Group bids farewell to Franco Fenech

Franco Fenech, one of the heirs to the Tumas Group business empire, has passed away.
His death was announced by the company in a heartfelt tribute shared on social media, describing him as “a force of nature” and remembering him as a deeply complex individual who left a lasting impact on those who knew him.
“A force of nature. Franco carried light and darkness, strength and vulnerability, fire and chaos all within him. Beautifully complex, deeply human, loved by many, understood by few, forgotten by none. The storm may be silent now, but its echo remains. Forever in our hearts. Tornado,” the company wrote.
Franco was one of the sons of the late George Fenech, who transformed the business founded by his father, Tumas Fenech, into one of Malta’s largest conglomerates, with major interests spanning gaming, hospitality, and real estate.
The Tumas Group is perhaps best known for the landmark Portomaso development in St Julian’s, including the iconic Portomaso Tower, which held the title of Malta’s tallest building for two decades.
