Truck Collision In Birżebbuġa Leaves Man Injured

A man was injured following a traffic accident in Triq Ħal Far, Birżebbuġa, which occurred yesterday at around 1.30pm.

Police were informed of the incident shortly after 13:30 and preliminary investigations indicated that the collision involved two heavy goods vehicles: a DAF 85 lorry driven by a 44-year-old man from Msida, and a DAF CF440 truck driven by a 49-year-old man from Ħal Qormi.

Emergency assistance was immediately provided by members of the Civil Protection Department, together with a medical team on site.

The 49-year-old driver was transported by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was later certified as having sustained grievous injuries.

No further details regarding the condition of the other driver have been released.

Police investigations into the circumstances of the crash are still ongoing.

Authorities are expected to determine the exact cause of the collision as enquiries continue.
