Triq It-Tabib Anton Tabone In Ta’ Sannat Completed

The Minister for Gozo, Clint Camilleri, has announced the completion of infrastructural works on Triq Anton Tabone, between Victoria and Ta’ Sannat, following the laying of around 1,500 square metres of new asphalt.
The project forms part of the Government’s ongoing investment in strengthening infrastructure across Gozo.
Minister Camilleri explained that Triq it-Tabib Anton Tabone, also known locally as Triq tal-Qasam, is now fully completed. He said the road links the outskirts of Victoria with Ta’ Sannat and serves as an important route for both localities, while also providing secondary access to Munxar and Xewkija.
The works included significant upgrades beneath the surface, with the installation of a new stormwater culvert connected to the existing rainwater collection system that channels water from the square in Ta’ Sannat.
This improvement is designed to enhance rainwater management in the area and reduce the likelihood of water accumulation on the road during heavy rainfall.
In addition, Enemalta installed a new electricity distribution cable as part of the project, while infrastructure for the New Water service was also completed.
This will support farmers in the area by improving access to irrigation water, delivering direct benefits to Gozo’s agricultural sector and supporting local production.
Minister Camilleri said the project is part of an extensive roadworks programme currently underway across the island, which will continue in the coming months and years. He added that infrastructure development in Gozo remains a key priority, covering both major arterial routes and residential roads.
He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to continued investment in projects that improve connectivity, strengthen road safety and enhance the quality of life for families in Gozo as well as visitors to the island.
