THREE SERIOUSLY INJURED IN TWO SEPARATE TRAFFIC INCIDENTS

Three people, including a young child, were hospitalised following two separate traffic accidents that took place on Thursday afternoon and evening in different localities across Malta.
In the first incident, a 40-year-old woman and a five-year-old girl, both residents of Wied il-Għajn, were injured in a crash that occurred at around 4:15pm in Triq id-Daħla ta’ San Tumas. Preliminary investigations showed that the woman lost control of the Peugeot 3008 she was driving and crashed into a rubble wall. Both were assisted on site by Civil Protection officers and a medical team before being taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. The child was certified as suffering from grievous injuries, while the woman sustained serious injuries.
In a separate incident at around 6:15pm, a 65-year-old woman from San Pawl il-Baħar was struck by a Toyota Vitz in Triq Mountbatten, Ħamrun. She was given medical assistance at the scene and later transported to hospital, where she was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.
Police investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
