Three Men Arrested For Illegally Cultivating Cannabis Plants In Gozo

Three foreign men were arrested after investigations in relation to the alleged and illegal cultivation of cannabis plants.
The men were arrested yesterday morning, when a search in their Triq il-Wied, Marsalforn, Żebbuġ, Gozo, yielded 11 cannabis plants being grown illegally.
The plants were found both inside and on the roof of the apartment block. Other sachets of cannabis were found, with their packaging indicating potential drug trafficking.
The men were a 43 year old German man, a 37 year old Ghanian man and a Sudanese 36 year old.
The German man was arraigned in court today, where he plead not guilty to charges. He was granted bail on various conditions.
Investigations are still ongoing.
