Three Italians Arrested For ‘Snatch & Grab’ Thefts Of Jewellery In Parties

Three persons were arrested by police in relation to a series of thefts, known as ‘snatch and grab’, of jewellery in a Ta’ Qali entertainment establishment.
Police were informed of various cases of theft that took place between 28 and 29 August 2026, with the value of stolen items rising over €17,000.
From investigations, including security footage analysis, it resulted that the thefts were organised and committed by the same three persons.
The culprits reportedly snatched the jewellery off the victims and running off into the crowd as they would have been dancing alongside with them.
Police managed to identify one of the suspects after surveillance took place, leading to the identification of the other two. This led to the tree being arrested in a BIrżebbuġa residence.
The three, who were all Italians,a ged 45, 32 and 20, are being kept under arrest as investigations continue. Stolen items reported were found in the residence.
They are expected to be arraigned in court today at around 1400hs.
