Thousands Brave Bad Weather For 'Il-Mixja Tal-President' 2025

This morning, ‘Il-Mixja tal-President’ 2025 kicked off, despite some bad weather.
Thousands enthusiastically gathered for the national fundraising activity, some starting in Attard while other starting off the walk in Paola’s Square.
The details of the event were announced at a press conference where Her Excellence Miriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, thanked anyone who is involved in the event’s organisation, and reiterated the importance of sport to the younger generation.
The press conference was also attended by Clifton Grima, Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation, and Justin Schembri, Opposition Spokesperson for Sport.
Minister Grima described the event as a celebration of collaboration, volunteerism, unity, solidarity, and generosity.
Mr Mark Cutajar, Chief Executive of SportMalta, Mr Kevin Chircop, Executive Chairman of main sponsor Enemed, and Mr Melvin Bugeja from the National Band Clubs Association were also in attendance.
Participants were asked to make a donation of €10 euro in aid of the Malta Community chest Fund, and collect the official event t-shirt from one of the Malta Community Chest Fund offices.
