Thousands Attend Rockestra 2026 On Saturday Evening

Thousands of people attended this year’s edition of Rockestra on Saturday evening, enjoying a spectacular performance featuring some of Malta’s leading local talent. Singers and dancers were accompanied by musicians from the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra for an evening of music and entertainment.

This year’s concert saw three Musical Directors who had worked alongside Maestro Aurelio Belli come together to conduct a programme specially curated with arrangements by Maestro Belli.

A moving tribute to Maestro Belli was one of the highlights of the evening. His wife, Gloriana Arpa Belli, performed some of his favourite songs, while those who had worked closely with him shared personal memories. Among them was Artistic Director Pawlu Borg Bonaci, who reflected on some of the memorable moments they shared.

Rockestra 2026 also marked the return of the group Animae, which reunited especially for the occasion. The line-up also featured Pawlu Borg Bonaci, Kenneth Calleja, Joe Roscoe, Gianni Zammit, Janice Debattista, Kersten Graham, Matthew James Borg, Karin Duff, Carmelo Ebejer, Petra Zammit, Joelene Samhan, David Lowe, Konrad Pule, Martina Borg, Pamela Bezzina, Klinsmann Coleiro, Ivan Grech, Frank Calleja, Chris Grech, Ira Losco and Gloriana Arpa Belli.

Among the distinguished guests in attendance were President of Malta Myriam Spiteri Debono, Speaker of the House of Representatives Carmelo Abela, and Ministers Malcolm Paul Agius Galea and Owen Bonnici.

In a message following the event, President Myriam Spiteri Debono thanked everyone who worked to make this year’s Rockestra a success, as well as all those who attended and contributed through their presence to the Malta Community Chest Fund.
