Thousands Attend Imnarja Celebrations This Weekend

Thousands of people attended the Imnarja 2026 celebrations, organised by the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, as families from Malta and Gozo came together to celebrate one of the country's oldest and most cherished traditions.
A varied programme of activities included livestock exhibitions, agricultural machinery displays, fruit and vegetable showcases, farming competitions, traditional horse-drawn carriage parades, Maltese folk games, għana performances, folk dancing and immersive multimedia experiences, bringing Buskett and its surroundings to life.
The main celebrations took place on the 28th and 29th of June, giving visitors the opportunity to recognise the work of farmers, livestock breeders and local producers while enjoying the unique atmosphere of the annual festival.
Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Anton Refalo, said the strong turnout demonstrated the public's continued appreciation of Malta's agricultural heritage.
He thanked all organisers, volunteers and exhibitors for contributing to another successful edition.
