Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg addressed young supporters during a political event, opening his speech by thanking the youths involved in the party’s election campaign.

Borg said his vision is to restore young people’s belief in Malta and Gozo by creating stronger opportunities for their future.

He highlighted one of the Nationalist Party’s main proposals for youths, which would see the first €50,000 earned by young workers become completely tax free, allowing them to invest in property and build financial independence.

He stressed the importance of education, stating that youths must continue studying in order to secure independence and long-term stability.

Borg also described healthcare as a priority sector under a future Nationalist government, announcing that students enrolled in healthcare-related courses would receive a €1,000 stipend equivalent to Malta’s minimum wage.

During the speech, Borg defended PN’s record in healthcare, pointing to investments in Mater Dei Hospital, SAMOC and the Gozo hospital.

He criticised the Labour government’s handling of the sector and argued that the Nationalist Party is best positioned to strengthen healthcare services.

Borg added that incentives for students entering healthcare professions would help staff the four new hospitals PN is proposing to build.

He also stated that youths opting for a private pension scheme would be guaranteed €5,000 under a Nationalist administration.

The Opposition leader further highlighted sectors such as gaming, artificial intelligence and data industries as areas where a future Nationalist government would continue investing to create economic growth and new opportunities for Maltese and Gozitan youths.

Concluding his address, Borg urged voters to make their decision carefully on election day.

“Those five seconds you’ll have on the 30th of May while voting will determine the five years ahead of us,” he said, adding that the ultimate power lies in the hands of the people.
