There Were Over 2,200 Marriages In Malta 2025

Marriages increased in Malta and Gozo during 2025, with a total of 2,240 unions registered across the islands.
The Public Registry in Malta recorded 2,069 marriages, marking an increase of 48 compared to 2024, when 2,021 marriages were registered.
In Gozo, a further 171 marriages were recorded. During the same period, one civil union was registered in Malta, while a total of 65 cohabitations were officially recorded, including 60 in Malta and five in Gozo.
Alongside these figures, the Public Registry also recorded a total of 4,176 deaths in Malta and Gozo during 2025.
Of these, 3,838 deaths were registered in Malta, comprising 1,979 men and 1,859 women. Gozo recorded 338 deaths, with 168 men and 170 women.
