“The Prime Minister Hasn’t Denied Any Accusations Made By Judge Wenzu Mintoff,” Says Alex Borg

In a new video shared on social media, Alex Borg said that, for Robert Abela, the appointment of a new Chief Justice has become nothing more than a political game.
He went on to refer to the judicial letter issued by Judge Lawrence Mintoff, claiming that the four names proposed for the position of Chief Justice were rejected not on the basis of merit.
According to Borg, the refusals stem from the fact that Robert Abela does not want to accept his nominations.
“Today you are understanding why everything said by the Opposition, be it a proposal for the good of Malta, a nomination for the betterment of the country, it is criticised by the Prime Minister and the Labor Party simply because it was said by the Nationalist Party,” insisted Alex Borg.
“We have arrived in this position because of Robert Abela’s behaviour.”
Borg also affirmed that he never spoke with any judges regarding the Chief Justice position.
“The Maltese population is still awaiting responses from the Prime Minister,” concluded the Opposition Leader.
