Local

Transport Malta’s Aviation Directorate have announced that the Malta International Airshow will be returning this weekend, running from Friday, 26th September to Sunday, 28th September.

The highly anticipated event will once again bring together aviation enthusiasts, professionals, and international participants to Malta’s skies, showcasing aircraft displays and demonstrations that continue to attract large crowds year after year.

As part of the preparations and safety measures surrounding the airshow, the Aviation Directorate has issued a specific warning to drone operators.

During the event period, no drones are permitted within the designated airspace, which has been clearly marked in purple on official maps.

This restriction is essential to ensure the smooth running of the airshow and, most importantly, to safeguard pilots, performers, and the general public.

Drone use in controlled airspace poses serious risks, and Transport Malta is urging full cooperation from the public to avoid any incidents.

Authorities have thanked drone operators in advance for respecting these measures and reminded everyone that failure to comply with aviation regulations may lead to penalties.

The Malta International Airshow promises to be a celebration of aviation excellence, and organisers encourage the public to enjoy the event responsibly.
