The Busker Collab With Gorillaz Bassist On New Song

Malta’s energetic pop trio The Busker are back with a new single. Following their last release, My Oh My, the band will release a new track, Bored in the Supermarket, on 4 February 2026.
The synth-pop track combines warped vocal arrangements, bold percussive elements, and The Busker’s signature saxophone sound.
The song features Seye Adelekan, the current touring bassist for Gorillaz.
The collaboration came about after a late-night Instagram message sent shortly after Adelekan posted that Gorillaz had finished their tour. A few email exchanges later, Adelekan contributed his audio files.
Inspired by the Gorillaz sound, The Busker describe the collaboration as one of their proudest moments.
For this release, The Busker reunited with the team behind their Eurovision Song Contest 2023 entry, Dance (Our Own Party). Producers Matthew James Borg and Micimago worked on the track, while director Steve Levi Vella created the music video.
The video follows the protagonist navigating a supermarket while imagining wild scenarios, performed by the band’s drummer Jean Paul. It is part of their ongoing Something in My Head saga, which fans can explore at https://simh.thebuskermt.com.
The video also features Malta’s pop legend Ira Losco through a fan-made t-shirt and includes a distinctive animated segment by Andrew Scicluna, the illustrator behind 90s Maltese animations such as Xummiemu.
Bored in the Supermarket is out now! Music video drops at 6pm!
