The Aftermath Of Storm Harry Damages To Għar Lapsi

Photos shared to social media by the Department of Information (DOI) shows the aftermath of Storm Harry on the beloved Siġġiewi bay of Għar Lapsi.

This comes as a public consultation is launched aimed at restoring the bay to its former glory.

‘In recent days, due to Storm Harry which struck our country, Għar Lapsi suffered extensive damage that completely altered both the visual appearance and the use of this area’, the DOI explained.

‘Consequently, the Government, through the Parliamentary Secretariat for Public Works, is committed to restoring the Għar Lapsi area and giving it back to the people and we want this to be done by the people, for the people.’

‘It is for this reason that, the Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure, and Public Works, through the Parliamentary Secretariat for Public Works, is launching a public consultation focused exclusively on this area. We are therefore moving forward to listen to the public, so as to understand what people would like to see in the regeneration of Għar Lapsi.’
