Temporary Bus Terminus Changes For Carnival In Valletta & Floriana

Festivals Malta, Transport Malta and Malta Public Transport have announced that a temporary change to the bus Terminus will come into effect for the days of Carnival in Valletta and Floriana, due to strong winds forecast in the coming days.

Following discussions between the relevant authorities, it was decided that the carnival floats will be parked in the St James Ditch in Valletta instead of the Floriana Granaries, in order to protect them from the elements and ensure that Carnival can be enjoyed safely in the days ahead.

This change was also agreed upon with the Carnival participants.

The locations of Terminus Zones B and C will be temporarily changed from Friday 13 February 2026 until Tuesday 17 February 2026 at 6.00 p.m.

The Terminus zones will be transferred to the Floriana Granaries – St Publius Street for Zone B and Sarria Street for Zone C.

Terminus Zones:
Zone B: St Publius Street
Zone C: Sarria Street

During this period, the following routes will be affected:

Zone B
B1: Routes TD4, X300
B3: Routes 21, 22
B4: Routes 24, 25, 32, 35
B5: Routes 31, 45, 48
B6: Routes 41, 42, 49, 250
B7: Routes 44, 47, 238
B8: Routes 43, 46, 260

Zone C
C1: Routes 50, 58A, 58
C2: Routes 51, 52, 53
C3: Routes 54, 56
C4: Route 61
C5: Route 62
C6: Routes 63, 64

Malta Public Transport recommends that passengers take note of these temporary changes and plan their journeys in advance. Normal service will resume after 6.00 p.m. on Tuesday 17 February.

Passengers using these routes will stop in Sarria Street as indicated by yellow arrows.

Festivals Malta thanks Transport Malta, Malta Public Transport, the Police Force, LESA and the Cleansing and Maintenance Division for working together to ensure that the Carnival floats remain protected and that Carnival can be celebrated safely. The public is encouraged to cooperate with the directions of the relevant authorities.
