Addressing attendees, Parliamentary Secretary Keith Azzopardi Tanti said innovation in this sector is not about marginal improvements but about driving Malta towards a more modern and resilient future.

He explained that Malta Vision 2050 seeks to position the country as a leader in change through strategic investment in technologies such as the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence.

He stressed that traditional industries, including tourism and hospitality, must become more adaptable in a rapidly evolving global landscape.

The Government, he added, remains committed to creating opportunities that allow Maltese talent to develop and implement ideas locally.

Two projects were presented during the event. IoTAP, led by Glenn Sciortino of Loop Services Ltd, offers a smart automation platform designed for small and medium sized enterprises.

The system aims to reduce energy consumption and environmental impact while improving customer experience, with a pilot currently underway in the hospitality sector.
