Malta is set to kick off December with a fair and calmer day on Monday, 1st December, as the weather finally settles after a stormy end to November. According to the latest forecast, Monday will feel like 18°C with highs of 18°C, lows of 15°C and light winds shifting from SSW Force 3–4 to SSE Force 3. UV index will be low at 2.

This brighter start to the month comes just after a period of unstable weather, with the Meteorological Office warning of isolated showers, thunder, hail and strong gusts today due to a low-pressure system over the central Mediterranean. Despite the recent rainfall, November still remains slightly below its average quota of 89 mm, and the weekend is expected to remain unsettled with isolated showers and strong northwesterly winds persisting until Sunday morning.

Temperatures will continue dipping, with daytime highs between 16°C and 18°C and overnight lows of 12°C to 13°C, feeling colder in the wind. Beyond Monday’s brief calm, further unstable weather is expected later in the week. For detailed updates, the public is encouraged to follow maltametoffice.com.

October also closed out slightly cooler and drier than usual, with 71.2 mm of rain recorded and a mean temperature of 21.3°C, along with four thunderstorms and a strong west-northwest gust on October 27th.
