Student Stipends To Be Increased, Education Minister Confirms

Speaking with Żgħażagħ Laburisti, Minister for Education Byron Camilleri confirmed that students will be receiving another increase in their stipends.

This came after the Budget 2027 presentation yesterday evening (Monday 26th October), where the stipend increase was not directly mentioned. It is still unknown by how much the increase will be.

The stipend increase could reflect the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) update, which will see workers and pensioners receiving an increase of €6.41 per week.

COLA is an annual adjustment intended to help compensate for increases in the cost of everyday essentials, including food, goods and services. We’ll have to wait and see whether the stipend increase reflects the COLA increase as well.
