Strong Wind Warning Issued Despite Sunny Skies

Strong northwesterly winds hit the Maltese Islands today, according to a weather warning issued by the Malta International Airport.

The warning states that the north-west wind will at times become strong across the islands, with the advisory remaining in force until 9pm on Saturday evening.

Despite the windy conditions, the weekend is still expected to bring largely dry and pleasant weather.

Today’s forecast states the day is windy and partly cloudy, with temperatures feeling like 22°C and highs expected to reach 22°C.

Winds are forecast to strengthen from Force 5 to Force 6 from the north-northwest during the day.

Conditions are expected to improve slightly on Sunday, with partly cloudy skies and lighter north-northwest winds ranging between Force 3 and 4.

Temperatures will remain mild, with highs of 21°C and lows of 14°C.

The UV index is also expected to remain very high throughout the weekend, reaching levels of 10 on Saturday and 9 on Sunday.
