Stray Cat Sanctuary Urgently Appeals for Help After Losing Electricity

The Carers for Stray and Abandoned Felines sanctuary has issued an urgent appeal for help after being left without electricity since 9pm last night, putting dozens of vulnerable cats at serious risk during the ongoing hot weather.
The sanctuary, which cares for abandoned and stray cats, said its greatest concern is its medical rooms, where sick cats, animals recovering from surgery, and those receiving ongoing treatment are kept.
The medical rooms are located inside converted metal containers that rely on air conditioning to maintain a safe temperature. Without electricity, the rooms have become unbearably hot, creating potentially life-threatening conditions for the cats inside.
The sanctuary warned that if power is not restored urgently, the extreme heat could have devastating consequences for the vulnerable animals in its care.
The rest of the shelter is also struggling without electricity. With no fans or proper ventilation, the cats are being left exposed to increasingly uncomfortable and dangerous conditions as the heat continues.
The sanctuary is now urgently seeking a generator that can be borrowed or rented immediately to help keep the cats safe while the electricity supply remains unavailable.
It is also appealing to anyone who may have a contact at Enemalta who could help prioritise its case and restore power as quickly as possible.
The sanctuary has urged anyone who can help, or who knows someone who can, to get in touch immediately.
It is also asking the public to share its appeal widely, stressing that a single share could help reach someone capable of providing the urgent assistance needed to protect the cats.
