Storm Harry Leaves Maltese Gardens Damaged
Local

Storm Harry left a trail of damage across several public open spaces in Malta, impacting parks and gardens that are enjoyed daily by families and communities.

In the early hours following the storm, teams from Project Green were already on site, working to repair the damage caused by the severe weather conditions. Strong winds and heavy rainfall resulted in fallen branches, damaged infrastructure and general disruption across a number of green areas.

Among the sites affected were Park tal-Inwadar, Ġnien il-Wied in Ħal Qormi and Ġnien id-Dakkara, which sustained varying degrees of damage during the storm.

Project Green praised the dedication and timely response of its workers, who acted swiftly to minimise further impact and ensure that these spaces could be made safe and accessible once again. Thanks to their efforts, the damage to Malta’s parks was prevented from becoming even more severe.

Restoration works are ongoing, and the public is encouraged to remain cautious when visiting open spaces following extreme weather, as further assessments and clean-up efforts continue.
