St Patrick’s Day Temporary bus Route Diversions In St Julian’s

Public transport users are being advised of temporary bus route diversions in the St Julian’s area on St Patrick’s Day, on Tuesday 17th March, due to road closures linked to the celebrations.
The diversions will start from midday onwards and will affect a number of routes operating between Sliema, St Julian’s, San Ġwann and Pembroke. Among the routes impacted are 13, 13A, 16, 202, 212, 222, 225, 233, N212 and N13, as well as routes 14, 14B, 110, 211 and TD3.
During the road closures, buses travelling between Sliema and St Julian’s will be diverted via Sliema Ferries up to Triq Manwel Dimech towards San Ġwann and Regional Road before reconnecting with their normal routes near Paceville.
As a result of the diversion, a number of bus stops along the coastal stretch between Sliema and St Julian’s will temporarily not be served. These include the stops Sliema, Chalet, Għadir, Torri, Exiles, Antik, Balluta, Olivier, Spinola and Ross. Additional stops around the Paceville and Portomaso area may also be affected on certain routes.
Routes travelling between Sliema and Pembroke will be diverted through Rue d’Argens and the Kappara roundabout, while some services operating from San Ġwann and Pembroke towards St Julian’s will temporarily bypass parts of the Paceville and St George’s Bay area.
From San Ġwann heading to St Julian’s will divert via the Regional Road tunnels and turn around at Pender Gardens roundabout before continuing on their normal route. Buses from Pembroke towards Sliema Ferries will divert from Pender Gardens onto Regional Road, pass through the tunnels, and continue via Triq L-Imrabat.
Buses from Paceville towards Sliema Ferries will turn around at Pender Gardens roundabout, travel along Regional Road through the tunnels, and continue via Triq Tas-Sliema, rejoining the normal route on Tower Road owards Sliema Ferries. Stops affected include Ross, Spinola, Olivier, Balluta, Antik, and Exiles.
Passengers are advised that services will resume their normal routes once the road closures are lifted. Given the number of routes affected, commuters are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and check the latest updates through the official public transport website or Tallinja app, where full details of all diversions and affected bus stops are available.
