St Joseph Sliema Girl Guides Take On a Week Of Adventure In the UK
Local

Members of the 14th St Joseph Sliema Girl Guides spent a week taking on outdoor challenges at the Cuffley Wilderness Learning Centre in the United Kingdom this summer.

The camp gave the girls the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones through activities aimed to build teamwork, confidence and outdoor skills. The activities included including zip-lining, low ropes and the Gladiator, a climbing challenge involving suspended obstacles

Teamwork was also at the centre of activities such as bridge building, shelter building, fire lighting, orienteering and mobile buggies, which encouraged the girls to communicate and solve problems together.

The programme also included camouflage, laser tag, archery and tomahawk throwing, while the SOS Scenario challenged participants to coordinate a rescue exercise involving an aircraft fuselage and actors portraying crash casualties.

Alongside the activities, the week offered opportunities to strengthen friendships and develop confidence in unfamiliar situations.

The girls returned from the UK with new skills, lasting memories and a greater appreciation of what they could achieve through determination and teamwork.
