St John’s Co-Cathedral will host a one-day seminar titled Where Stories Live | Narrative in an Evolving Experience on Wednesday 6 May at the King’s Own Band Club in Valletta.

The event will bring together leading thinkers and practitioners to explore storytelling as a vital connection between heritage, digital innovation, human experience and future relevance.

A key highlight is the keynote by Caroline Wilson-Barnao, an internationally recognised museologist whose work has influenced contemporary approaches to museums in the digital age.

Her research focuses on the impact of digital and participatory media on museum practice.

She is the author of Museums as Platforms and co-author of Collecting Social Media: From Object to Content, with widely cited work on digitisation, personalisation and cultural recommendation systems.

The programme also features panel discussions and workshops led by both local and international contributors.

Among them is Sandro Debono, a museum advisor and executive board member of the Network of European Museum Organisations, where he leads the Think Tank for Museum Futures.

Annalisa Banzi from the University of Milan will add further international perspective through her research on psychology, neuroscience and visitor experience.

Additional speakers include John Mallia, Simone Spiteri and Alex Zammit, each contributing expertise in storytelling, performance and cultural engagement.

The seminar offers a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue, encouraging participants to explore how storytelling can shape more inclusive and forward-looking cultural experiences. Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.
