Speaker Shares More Parliament Updates As Summer Break Begins

Newly elected Speaker of the House Carmelo Abela has continued to share updates from parliamentary life as it closes down for a little summer break.

Abela explained that despite the parliament going a break, work will still be ongoing, with some committees still meeting and politicians still fulfilling their duties outside of parliament.

He recalled that such a break will be well needed given that Malta has just come out of an election just a few weeks ago. The work commenced immediately, with Abela being elected speaker of the house and Bernard Grech elected as Deputy Speaker.

Since then, he became the first speaker to give public updates about what goes on in parliament aside from the sittings.
